New Vegas has wonky gunplay due to the engine, but with some mods it becomes great for gun porn.
shittons of hand loading options, gun jamming, believable shotgun range(within RPG stats of course) and there's one mod that makes your magazines actually exist, so you have to load your magazines, when you reload prematurely your magazine gets added to the inventory with the remaining bullets(so you "lose" them) and after you go through all your full mags every time you reload you'll use a random partially empty mag, making weapons that reload per-bullet a lot more important.
It also removes automatic reload when your ammo reaches 0, so you can get into situations where you run out of ammo and keep firing without noticing it.
