I lived peasant life couple months a year before 18, grandparents lived n a village.
It's not as hard as it sound, specially winter is a breeze.
But damn those winter preparations for hay. Grasscutting with scythes, preparing haystacks, drying it with horseflies size of two my thumbs.
Everything else wasn't that hard, plaughing is with machinery, digging and seeding potatoes is much easier than hay and less tedious.
So yeah, you should just move to Russia/Ukrain/Poland and experience it for a year or two. Pretty easy life.
