>you wasted money on a 980
why even live

What's wrong with a 980? Besides the price going down soon.

Is that the 1070/1080 chip? I'm not familiar with Nvidia's chip codenames.

You got it
Nvidia codes are pretty easy.
Flagships are always GX-100 and high end is always GX-104 with the exception of 900 series because the 100's were in the 700 series since 750ti and some others were maxwell cards.
GK-104 is a gtx 680 and 670, the K stands for Kepler so a GP-104 should be the X80 or X70 of Pascal

Pascal will last longer, It will likely be refreshed in a year with slight overclocks like nvidia used to do before this whole 28nm bullshit.
The only problem is they may keep the GP-100 or whatever they want to call it for the refresh like they did with kepler to make it seem like less of a shitty upgrade so you might be waiting a while for the ti version.

>bought 2 780Ti
>top card
>nvidia made it worse because the need to sell newer cards
thanks nvidia

It's a good yearly money sink, it's like the time I was modding Skyrim. The problem was that I always ended up with too much gold and nothing to spend it on because I had everything, so I had to add a mod that put taxes on everything I owned to balance my economy. The game isn't fun otherwise, just like real life.

I hope AMD makes some decent hardware this time around because in the last few months they've really picked up their software game and nvidia has been dropping the ball repeatedly.

Are they sticking to architecture for longer these days and doing more efficiency related stuff instead of trying to shrink quickly?
