I shave my neckbeard and I never played King's Field.
I never cared for Dark Souls. I wanted to enjoy it but there really wasn't any motivation to keep playing. Story is pretty much non-existent and the rewards from defeating bosses were really underwhelming. This feels like a game that needs a carrot on a stick, at least with the whole Diablo 2 thing of running back to get your corpse.

Please do tell why you believe that. Every enemy I've seen has infinite stamina including bosses leading to a stupid amount of dodging and waiting for the right time to get a couple hits in. Coupled with the attack patterns being super aggressive, guaranteed stun, and general lack of weapon/build viability I would actually say it falls short of other games.
