I bought it about a month ago. I'm only semi-pro and justifiably so.
But I just finished a match where I was able to score the game-tieing point with THREE seconds left. Then, in overtime my teammates scored the ball. And I mean from the other side of the field. If they would have done NOTHING, we wouldn't have lost at that moment.
But since I found a cool group of randoms I laughed. It was pretty funny.

I play mostly in ballcam, but switch over when making attacks on opponents, or when there is a clusterfuck and the ball isn't my target. I drift a lot, mostly for short quick turns. Controllers are always better than kb/m for driving.

I mostly play with ball cam on, but it really depends on the situation. If I'm going back to my zone to defend, I'll take it off or if I'm going for a save I'll take it off since ball cam can get pretty wonky in the air.
Drift is extremely important for making plays. You can capitalize on the opponent missing the ball and make defensive plays with it, like if you're going back to your zone. It's the fastest way to turn around.
Controller is much better.

Gamepad is practically mandatory. Ballcam should be your default view, but you'll find yourself switching to forward cam regularly for situational awareness once you get used to the game.

There are only 2 things missing from this game:
1. Locking paint to team color - I get it, but if I really wish I could use whatever color I want. The nameplates are a good enough indicator of what team I'm on.
2. Loadouts - I wish I could save a loadout for each car so I don't have to rebuild every time.
