Areas being able to be done very quickly if you just sprint directly to where you need to go is nothing new in a Souls game. It's the norm. He's combined two things that don't make much sense; "My overall playtime is fast, what's your excuse for having trouble on these bosses?" For a lot of players, regardless of how much trouble they had on those bosses, the vast majority of time would be spent exploring areas at their own pace, including optional ones. Well, Greatwood is especially bad because you need to hit multiple targets that have no lock-on point. All magic is certainly harder than all physical, but some things are easier.
That said, I've just decided "fuck it" and freely summon for bosses on this character. Magic always felt like you weren't playing the game how it was designed to be played, but this time around it works against you more often than not.

I fount Pontiff harder than demon king, they were both some of the harder bosses though. Demon took me 5 tries, Pontiff took me 6 and the boss that took me the most tries was Abyss Watchers with 11, it was around that number anyway. Apart from those the other bosses were done in under 5 tries.
