The industry is run by people that don't care for games but rather money. Reviews are just paid promotion anyway.
Vtmb got around 8/10, but averages are around 9.5/10 so thats complete shit in their eyes.

Taking a look at metacritic it had more positive than average scores along with the only bad score coming from IGN with an overall 73 which is 2 points from being considered "good" there.
By current /v/ standard they would obviously tout the score as being bad but ten years ago it was a lot different

Not saying I agree with them! I don't even thing reviews matter, but if we're talking scores, no, 73 is not a good score, on /v/ it means it bombed hard.
Reminder that vidya reviews are the dumbest thing to ever exist. In every other media the scores actually represent the content experienced, except vidya, where anything under 74 results in companies refusing to ship newer products to reviewers, thus leaving them out of a job.
