Undertale is a pretty good, if very unoriginal, game. It introduces a lot of classic tropes in a fun way, and it's functionally a very simple game, both these factors combining so that it's incredibly accessible, for actual videogamers and just fans of games.
The community is negative because it's big, and therefore contains more cancer and pure shit, as well as the narrative driven undertale's big story aspects being ruined by autists online. The one good side of the community is the sheer amount and vanilla and lewd art it produces.
Overall, I'd prefer it to exist than for it not to exist. Also, it's creator seems more pleasantly surprised than self-wankingly dickish about his instant success.

Undertale is a fun game. It's short, but sweet.
I enjoyed the whole concept of the "you can't get the good ending because you dun fucked up before". The story was okay, not the best, not the worst.
I didn't enjoy how short the actual game was, along with combat. The background when fighting an enemy should have been changed based on different locations / how evil you are.
It was fun, I got my money's worth, but there's little to no replay value.

At its peak, it had a ton of shitty, autistic fanfics/images. It had the exact same sort of fanbase that Naruto had, and in fact there was a ton of crossover between the two. It's just that the type of fanbase it did have was fairly shallow, and they moved on to other things after a time. When it did exist, though, the Kingdom Hearts fanbase was basically the proto-tumblr crowd. I wouldn't be surprised if many of the older kingdom heartsfags grew up and become tumblrfags.

Yeah it's a good game.
It doesn't exactly meet all the criteria for it to be amazing but the parts where it excels matters the most in this particular game.

Ignoring the fanbase of autists, SJWs, and furfags, it's hard to answer whether Undertale is a good game. It's cheap enough to justify being so short, it's got great music, and its story and characters are, strictly speaking, better-developed than many stories and many characters of equivalent roles in longer games. I like the fusion of RPG and bullet hell gameplay. However, its characters are still disgusting nonhumans, and I can't get invested in them because of that. Its protagonist was designed as a completely blank slate whose only feature is that they're a child, and I'm not a fan of child protagonists or of most blank slate protagonists. It uses fourth-wall-breaking as a key story point, which annoys me because then you're selling an entire game and its world short for the sake of a dumb postmodern trick that hasn't been as mind-blowing as Toby thinks it is since years still started with 1. I guess the best way I can view it is as a good soundtrack that happens to have a mediocre game to explain it.
