It could be a female. Oceiros is off his rocker, and if Ocelotte was male, he'd probably have been named the heir, like Lothric was over Lorian.
Also, Ocelotte seems to be for Oce (for Oceiros) and -lotte as in Shanalotte, someone who was also a child of dragons. Oceiros, Lorian and Lothric are all extremely pale and possibly blind (we never see Lothric's face). The firekeeper has the same pale skin and is also blind.

just throw charms at it, when it wakes up, throw another.
Each reset counts as a kill and can give you the potential drop of the helmet
or kill all mimics in the game and last 1 will 100% drop it
