it's actually pretty simple:
The trolls were players of another session, jade prototyped her dog which made jack noir into an unkillable final boss so the kids decided to press the big reset button and escape the session before the reset takes place.
Jack Noir fucks off to earth through a time capsule and then enters the troll session through the terminals the exiles found and proceeds to destroy shit. Meanwhile rose and dave go on a mission to destroy the green sun which supposedly powers jack noir but instead the bomb creates the sun due to time bullshit and then the kids all become god tiers bcause they die on their quest slabs. The trolls escape their own session by going towards the green sun, meet with the kids and go towards the new resetted session which has the guardians of the old kids as players.
shit happens, turns out that the actual final boss is lord english which turns out to be a green skeleton face guy that plays in the future universe the new kids create. In the end they finish the new session and lord english is not even defeated on screen. the end

Yeah, the blind chick gave John with his bullshit retcon powers some words to focus on to target his powers, and instructions to follow. She basically gave him explicit instructions that would allow her to figure out Gamzee's bullshittery and give her a way to knock Vriska out instead of killing her.
John's bullshit retcon powers were born because he touched the Juju, which would have ordinarily sucked him in, but given that there was already a version of himself inside it, instead resulted in a glitch that forced him outside the usual timespace bullshittery of Paradox Space.

And I'm gonna be honest, whatever anyone thinks of Homestuck, there isn't very much else like it on the planet, and what there is, is typically inspired by it in no small amount.
It feels like Hussie has a track record of pulling some pretty amazing stuff out of his ass, and once the whole game thing gets settled and Homestuck's epilogue is in place, I'll be excited to see what he does next.

A lot of the issues are the usual "well-funded Kickstarter by someone who's never made a game (at least on that scale) before" problems, but yeah, the fact that The Odd Gentlemen pulled a Colonial Marines on them fucked the whole operation pretty hard, so it's hard to blame Hussie for the clusterfuck.
Honestly, the biggest damage the whole fiasco probably did was making Hussie have to put Homestuck on hiatus for a year to deal with it. The damage that did to Homestuck's readership/fanbase/brand is probably way more than the direct financial damage caused by TOG straight-up stealing their money.

Who? I was under the impression that the Intermission was one of the most beloved parts of the comic. If anything gets shit on unnecessarily, it's Acts 1 and 2.
