Keep in mind you will have to play the game 4 times (You start from middle each New game+) to get the full story. Your first playthrough will be extremely confusing and won't make a lot of sense but subsequent playthroughs add something amazing into the mix each time.

I watched Nier and Drakengard 3 on youtube. Drakengard 3 looked like trash, glad I skipped that. Nier looks good, but what can you do. At least I don't feel compelled to buy a console now.

I feel like now is a good time to play those forgotten gems of last gen. I got two current current gem systems, but while they don't have many games yet, i can use the time to catch up with my backlog. Playing El Shaddai now, flawed in some ways but it's still great.
And on the topic of Nier, i think the same i said for Shaddai goes for it. I still only got the A ending though.

It's pretty great. Can be ridiculously grindy if you're trying to complete certain quests or get certain weapons, but it's got a really comfy atmosphere, cool environments, and one of the best vidya OSTs ever. Probably my favorite fishing minigame too. I hope you enjoy it.

There's some dirt next to Nier's house. Just approach it and you'll get the option to plant a seed.
Then you have to wait like 24 hours in real-time for anything to grow, so it's hardly worth it unless you screw with your console's clock.

Do it man, you have to do at least 2 playthroughs, but the 2nd playthrough starts you off halfway through and the enemies dont really level with you, so youll be almost 1 hitting bosses of the 2nd play. But the 2nd play adds a bunch of new parts of the story.
