I haven't seen too many threads go this, so let's do it.
Factorio thread.
Does anyone like it?
I've had it for about 2 weeks, and have logged about 80 hours. It's safe to say I'm addicted, for reasons I can't explain.
Hmm.
I like it a lot but my friends stopped playing it :<
I just want to build my fucking autist machinery, I'm sick of these bugs.
I just built my first rocket, after 50 hours in a game.
All I can think about is how much better I would build if I restarted. Yes it's that addicting.
It's one of those
>I'll just spend 5 more minutes finishing this bit off
>...
>Welp it's 5AM again
sort of games. Haven't experienced something like this since Civ IV. My inner autist desire for perfection and efficiency is quenched. It's not perfect, but it's one of the better engineer games out there in my opinion.

There's a setting where you need to make the first strike before bugs attack you. After you attack though it's all out war.
>>335051235
Peaceful mode, though you will still need to hunt them down for alien science.
Just remember, the longer you take to hunt them down the worse they get, peaceful mode or not. If anything peaceful makes thing WORSE by luring you into a false sense of security while they get stronger, kinda like any TES game and training stats.
I spent too long setting up a train to fetch more iron and I am kind of fucked with my extremely shitty base setup
Learned a lot though and ready to start a new game fresh, clocked 25 hours across 2 sessions, really love the game
It feels too much like work
>>335052089
But you can automate the work away. Besides driving to outlying resource patches to plop down outpost blueprints and destroying Ayy lmao nests
>>335051607
This. It's addicting as fuck. Also :
>I need to do A
>But before I need to do B
>I don't have resources for this
>To mine resources you need trains and track and shit
>Then build the drills
>Drills need electricity
>Not enought space for more boilers, need to expand
>Fight bugs, build new wall defence
>meanwhile I ran out of copper, I need new copper production
>it's 2am and I forget what A even is
Can I enjoy this game if I'm not autistic or is it one of those games?
I've played the game for hundreds of hours.
Mods add a lot of replayability, I really like bobs mods and I'm currently trying Youki Industries, it's better than I expected.

It's more user friendly than Dwarf Fortress say. Not shilling, but there's a free demo on Steam.
Really enjoying the game. Too bad multiplayer works like ass if you have shitty internet.

Are there no way to plant trees yet? The big hive is blocked by lots of trees so I'm quite safe but just to be sure, smallee one is already eradicated and I have like 80 alien artifacts
I played it like 2 months ago
I played one peaceful run
Then I played one with ayys
Then I didn't touch it again
It was good I played like 80 hours
>>335049621
Owned it for about 15 days and have 181 hours in, I enjoy it
>>335053194
Have you successfully port forward the port? Does it need TCP/UDP or juat one of them? Also in the roadmap, supposedly in june there's a multiplayer update so we don't have to pf
>>335053073
Yes, it's pleb-friendly.
I remember playing it before it got on Steam.
Are the aliens an actual threat now? I always had to go out of my way to their nests in order to fight any
It's pretty good, I would like to see more stuff than the xenos to fuck with you though.
Right now they're mostly just a nuisance.
The only thing I hate about the game is the aliens. I'm stuck in campaign mode because the entire level is about killing aliens which sucks. I want to get back to automating cool shit.
>>335053924
They are if you don't build adequate defences.
It's very easy to just destroy their bases when they get near the edge of your pollution but before they're triggered to attack though.
>>335054065
What's the point of those smart inserters?
Just bought it the other day. Only have 2 hours clocked but I like it. Wish I had time to play it more this week.
>>335054527
They only move specific resource types. On the right hand side, the smart inserter is only moving iron plates because the steel smelters don't need the copper plates sharing the same track. If I used a fast inserter, the track used by the steel smelters would get polluted with unused copper plates.
it's p fun until you get logistic bots
then it just feels like a causal dorf fort
My autism is preventing me from having fun.
>love comfy building games like banished
>this is pretty comfy and good for my autism
>play for 1-2 hours
>losing overview
>delete map and start over
>do this for a week
>don't want to play anymore
The most advanced thing I ever got to build was a solar powered radar.
>>335054972
That's a pretty neat design anon

until you have to put blue and purp drinks in
