You messed up somewhere earlier - the first proper lovetalk is the first time you sleep at Ravenstower (when you're a prisoner), you have to invite her into the bed; you have to be nice to her after Lesson 4; you have to be nice and gentle with her all through Ravenstower (don't belittle her in front of other people either) and if you don't go with her to the Baron you can't fuck the guards.
I'm not sure, but if you /do/ go with her with the Baron I don't think you can be too receptive.

Yeah, I'm here, and it sucks that you can't fix that bug. That series would be one of my top recommendations if I could actually get it to work properly.

I can handle it if the module isn't too restrictive about resting. At least with a sorcerer, you don't have to do all the bookkeeping of selecting individual spell castings. You pick your spells when you level up and resting is like restoring your mana. Tales of Arterra had a potion that gave you a full rest, including restoring all your spells. I wish more modules could do something like that, but make it into a kind of mana potion that only restores spells and doesn't heal you.
I still very much dislike Vancian mechanics, but I also love all the lore around sorcerers and how the differ from wizards. They should have gotten their own mechanics and moved away from Vancian casting entirely.

That's true. I play a sorcerer any time a module allows it, and I've passed every speech check just by boosting Charisma at every opportunity (which you should do anyway) and creating my character with 14 Intelligence so I have enough skill points to put in Persuasion whenever I can.

Or you finish reading, click a millisecond too late, and accidentally skip the next line. That's one of many reasons I've basically given up on ever playing NWN2 modules. I don't know why more module creators didn't foresee that problem and make every dialogue line use a ten-minute silent sound file or something so you basically have to click to advance it and can read it at your own pace.

I guess it works okay when you have dialogue that's fully voiced and lip-synced, but it's terrible for everything else. Even in ideal conditions, the forced letterboxing and subtitles you can't turn off are still very annoying. It was probably intended to be more cinematic or something, but it doesn't even work for that. NWN1 is just better in every way.

It looks nicer, but more often than not, the environments are deceptively large, with a lot of space you actually can't walk around on. Since NWN2 controls badly, trying to find your way around an outdoor area can be a pain in the ass just because you can't figure out where you're allowed to walk. And like the other anon said, it ends up being more of a curse than a blessing because it made modules much harder to make, which is part of why NWN2 has an abysmal selection of modules compared to NWN1.

Yeah. As much as I don't like grid inventories, NWN1 did it pretty well. In NWN2, everything is a tiny little square, which makes it very hard to tell what things are at a glance.

The big problem I had with casting in NWN2 was that spells sort of auto-aimed. When you selected an AoE spell, your cursor changed to show the area the spell would hit. That sounds cool at first, but unfortunately, that's not all it does. It also makes the cursor snap onto an enemy if you move it too close, making it harder to aim overall.

The first Tales of Arterra is also well-balanced and fun, at least for a combat class, but you level up decently quickly.
The first Bastard of Kosigan module (Exile of the West) is the only really low-level one, but because of that it's pretty fun.

There's also a french mod called Kunoichi which is supposedly also very good, but I've never played it. Not to mention that ADWR, unlike the other ones, is also incredibly well written plot-wise.
