There are loads of great games for it, even on the store there's things like the 3D port of Cave Story, which is amazing. Probably my favourite version of CS
Outside of that there's FE:A, three amazing zelda games (never played any of the N64 ones, I was PC gaymen only back then). There's Etrian Odyssey games which I love, and I've been going back and enjoying DS games I missed.

Both of the handhelds are worthless this gen. The vita had some real gems but most were ported to other systems. It does get points for being a really sleek and advanced system and having ambition. But the 3DS is a downgrade from the DS in every way besides the obvious graphics. The only handhelds worse than these was the game boy/game gear era.

OR copy/pasted too much content from XY. The preE4 adventure was unmemorable (partially due to how easy it was). Halfway through it I got bored and forced myself to finish 6 months later just for the Delta episode, which also turned out to be a huge disappointment. Delta Episode speaks for itself if you played it.

I feel like OR was a step up from X/Y though. You can't expect much from it pre-E4 because it's a remake, but post E4 it at least had more to do than X/Y, even if they really should have included the Battle Frontier from Emerald with it

The thing I enjoyed about XY was that there was a lot of "new" to explore. ORAS may have added to it but ultimately with how they copied so much from XY and the fact that it's a remake, there wasn't much "new" to explore. And that's what turned me away. I'm not really a fan of battle facilities (except for PWT) and usually just prefer barely winning battles. I don't like to stomp battles in one hit, nor do I like getting stomped on to the point where I'm forced to grind. Gen 6 is the former.
