How so? The overall world setting looks like it's from Earthbound/Psychonauts and the battle system is some mix of Final Fantasy with mini-game inspired moves like Paper Mario/Mario & Luigi RPGs

Honestly, considering how "quirky" it's trying to be, it comes off as really uninspired. The character designs, the animations, the battle system, etc. The plot is probably gonna suck too. I don't see anything special about this game, besides the fact that it uses crappy 3D models instead of 2D pixel art.
