What kind of emulation filter do you use?

I just emulate on my wii to a crt, so no filters needed. For ps1 emulation though I go to a crt monitor at 640x480 with retroarch's scanline overlay.

I'm not emulating. And no, a blur filter also makes it look like ass, in fact probably more ass than usual. It's the way the "pixels" are set up on CRT monitors that you can't really emulate.
Since the final design was made with the output in mind and referenced, usually these old games look leagues better on CRT.
When I DO emulate however, I just chuck in scan lines. It's only when I'm too lazy for setting up the CRT anyway and it makes it look a mite better.
why does sonic cd get so much praise... I like pretty much all the 2D Sonics (even the game gear ones, those were pretty damn fun) excepr for Sonic 4 but eh, CD... everything is like a maze... and what is the point of time travelling...
