Well for Run and Gun I think you should check out the Super Turrican games and Contra 3. Also, Rendering Ranger R2. As for shmups I think you'd like R-Type 3, Axelay and Space Megaforce.
Panel De Pon/Tetris Attack is probably the best puzzle game on the SNES, other worthy mentions are Wario's Woods, Dr. Mario and Puzzle Bobble. I assume you don't mean Bomberman when you say puzzle games, but then I could be wrong.

Solely from modern retrospective view: SNES. Early 3D games have aged like a fart in a wine bottle stored in the dankest dungeon imaginable. Even landmark titles like Ocarina and Mario 64 feel dated and are an eyesore to look at. Super Mario World still plays today. As does Super Metroid. Colorful 2D sprites are still attractive to the eye.
I feel the same about most PSX titles as well.

Yes. It's a Tetris game that was only released in Japan but you can emulate it pretty easy today. It's a great party game.
You pick a character, they have four levels of magic attacks, you try to fuck over the other person. One character is pretty imbalanced but if you know how to use the other ones you can use it to your advantage. There's a lot more strategy than there looks to be. For instance you want to play the queue in the middle to try and get all the magic pieces, you also want to deny the other players their magic pieces by activating your magic spells to prevent them from getting it.

It also has Rensa mode which is nuts. There's gravity so you can set up huge chains.

N64 was the golden age for split screen local gameplay. People who were cool and had lots of friends to play with always had the N64.
