Wii U has a lot of multiplayer games, like MK8, Splatoon, Smash, and Mario Maker (in a sense), of which the playtime will obviously vary by how quickly you get burned out on them. I put an average of 50 hours into each and while I'm planning on playing them all again at some point in the future, they've largely outstayed their welcome for me. Bias? Obviously my experience won't be your experience or anyone elses, but I suspect each person won't even like all 4 games to begin with. The implication around here is that you should like every genre and play every exclusive on a console, which is just stupid in and of itself, BECAUSE of bias, not despite it. People just don't like everything.
Tangents aside, the single player content is much easier to approximate unless you're absolutely terrible at video games. Bayo 2 is a good 15 hours, as is DKCTF, as is SM3DW, as is Pikmin 3, as is W101. You might get more or less out of them based on how much you want to replay them. For instance, I put 30 hours into 3DW, but I finished Pikmin 3 in only 9 hours and never felt like turning it on again because it was so painfully average.
Xenoblade X can be a serious time burner, but I really have to question how many people are really into that kind of game to begin with. It's just not for everyone, and such open-ended games can have hugely varying platimes. Let's just say 100 hours, which I feel like is a *liberal* estimate on a game most people will give up on a few hours into.
Where does that leave us. 375 hours? Playing 3 hours a day (reasonably) is 2 months time, and some of us have owned a Wii U since November 2012. There have been long, long droughts with fuck all to play, and we're in another one right now.

Simply, there are a lot of very good games on the wii u that are worth playing, but we don't know if those games will be ported or backwards compatible on the NX.

Waiting for my Wii U versions of Dex, Hyperlight Drifter, Yooka Laylee, Starr Mazer, and Armikrog, as I backed those.
Generally a lot of cool stuff that I don't really care where else is available.

The best thing about the Wii U is that once you get burned out on one game, the burn out period on another game is usually just about up, meaning you can keep a constant string of playtime going with this thing. And of course, some games just don't stop being fun for quite a while. I'd like to say Splatoon is good in that regard, but the playerbase can be pretty fucking grating sometimes.
I just got finished clocking around 140 hours in Xenoblade X so far and I'm still not ready to call it quits, but I'm also ready to pick up Smash and Mario Kart again since it's been a while.
Most importantly though, it's one of the few consoles with more than one or two actual games that can't be found elsewhere. I'd say for me the PS4 has Bloodborne and I suppose maybe Disgaea 5 to keep me there, and the Xbone almost had an exclusive before Microsoft said "Oh yeah and it'll also be on PC"

Pretty good deal really, because I really like Shimrick milkshake, and I didn't think that putting down $200 on an experience such as 'drinking Shimrick milkshake while cruising through the streets of the Mishroom Kingdom' would be too bad.
