There are ways to improve on 64's formula without reinventing the wheel or feeling like a budget 5th generation game.
I love rail shooters but Star Fox Zero doesn't look like a particularly interesting one. The chicken walker stuff looks really bad and the arwing gameplay seems like a step backwards from the few arwing sections of Assault.
To compare to another Nintendo railshooter Sin & Punishment 2 had much more detailed levels and more going on in them and that game came out on the Wii years ago.

Even Nintendo fags aren't defending this,just a few real drones. All the short comings of this game are miyamoto's doing. All the stuff that looked promising was platinums doing. People didn't start getting hype for this until that wolf fight video. They should've given platinum full control over the games development. And to think they wasted so much time at last year's e3 for the developer story

The lower scores are becasue in the times of instant gratification, being limited by the controls is a huge roadblock.
