I haven't played them all and couldn't rank them like that but simply off the amount of good times I had playing co-op, Gladiator (or Deadlocked, depending where you're from) is my number one.
I know there are plenty of good reasons other Ratchet games are arguably better but still.
Good guns, that modding system, probably the best humour of any game in the series + playing with a buddy takes the cake.

Here I go.
1. R&C 3 - My favorite, first one I got 100% in, then I did it again.
2. R&C 2 - My first Ratchet, I just feel 3 is an upgraded and better version of it.
3. ACiT - Very good, I think the series lost it's charm around ToD or Gladiator, but this plays very well.
4. Into the Nexus - Jet pack sections were a nice addition, but that's the only addition this game brought to the table.
5. Ratchet and Clank - Good, but I think starting with 2 made me want strafing to be there and a bigger emphasis on the guns.

So, I'm playing the Reboot, it's been awhile since I've played R&C (Didn't have a PS3), did they change the way weapons upgrade? I remember upgrading them and they'd become weapons with different effects and shit. They'd change appearence too.

Music, bosses, many levels of weapon upgrades, flawless. Plus nostalgia.
2. Locked & Loaded (a.k.a. Going Commando)
Damn near as good as UYA, just with less notable music tracks and less weapon upgrades.
3. Tools of Destruction / Crack in Time
Didn't play much of the series past the first 4 games, but these two seemed to have the same charm that the originals had.
4. Gladiator (a.k.a. Deadlocked)
The series began to drop in quality here, but Gladiator was still a fun experience.
5. The Original
this was just Insomniac's warmup desu
6. Quest For Booty
I just feel like restricting the planet variety so hard destroyed the feeling of exploration that the series does so well.
7. Size Matters / Secret Agent Clank
Never even bothered to play these ones.
I've only just beaten R&C 2016 a few hours ago, I'll need a few more playthroughs before I decide for sure but I am fairly certain this game hovers somewhere in the range of Tools of Destruction to R&C 2002.
