Many games wouldn't exist if there weren't consoles.
And no "they're holding muh games hostage T.T" is not a valid reason for why consoles are bad.
they arent bad for the industry as a whole, but they hold back technical specs of certain games that are not Pc exclusive
Cause this generation's consoles are just locked-down PCs. They give you no value for money, they bring no meaningful technological advances and they pretty much don't let you do anything outside of gaming.

because they think that if you remove consoles magically all games will become great and look photorealistic, just because console hardware is weaker than PC hardware. What will actually happen is that poor initial sales will kill AAA gaming, create a massive scaleback in every single production level and you'll be stuck with retro indie games and half assed graphics

Consoles ARE great, I love them I will buy a gamecube and 64 and love them to death but in the future, where games are going to get more advanced and the systems with them, they don't innovate.
Its not just "omg, pc's are better" its that consoles are becoming pc's at this point.

It's mostly just console warring. Everyone talks about having some super high end gaming PC or whatever but honestly the average PC used by the average person will play most games and that's probably what they're using too.
I'm mainly a PC gamer because Steam has an absolutely massive library of games so I just end up playing games on the PC most of the time. My PC isn't exactly the best (it's actually a laptop) but it runs most things just fine.
But you know, there are lots of things to be jealous about. Consoles never need to worry about games not being compatible with their set up. Maybe your specs aren't right. Maybe it's some weird technical bullshit that's preventing you from playing. With consoles though, just insert disc and you're done.
There's also all the games that never make it to consoles. The big one seems to be Bloodborne now, ever since Dark Souls 3 released.
It's mostly just a case of sour grapes.
Honestly, the whole issue would cease if there was one supreme console that could play all games or something. Of course, the chance of that happening are very low.We'd need a Conquest.
