I've got more problem with the character randomly kicking instead of a regular attack than any single monster so far. Stunlocking most things is easy as heck, so as long as you can manage to fight everything 1 on 1 there is little problem.

what's even better is luring them to stand on top of a fire. They die in a few seconds and you can just dodge the flying skulls while they burn up. Just make sure you keep baiting their attacks to keep them standing still.

The unarmed naked Ghrus are probably the worst-designed enemies in the entire game. Any time you hit them they just immediately jump and trio to mario-stomp you. This gets fucking stupid for the ones in the Demon Ruins that jump through the ceiling to do it. Hit, roll out, step in, hit, roll out, repeat until zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....

Everything bigger than a rock-basic Hollow in DaS 3 is a gigantic pile of plate-spinning auto-tracking lolpoising bullshit. FROM wasn't even trying with this one.

Those are one of the best-designed monsters in the whole game.

Like 90% of the enemies in Smouldering Lake are annoying as fuck. Especially those faggots that can spawn seemingly an infinite number of fireball spawning orb things.
Crabs are bullshit.

Wheel skeletons are actually okay now and not total bullshit garbage.
Those giant spider wolf monsters or whatever they were were great and reminded me a bit of the larger beasts in Bloodborne.
I have mixed feelings about the Pontiff Knights but generally they were pretty neat.
Also mixed feelings about the Evangelist / Fat lady official enemies but generally they were well designed and once you realize which of their attacks have delays they're not that hard to deal with.

Sometimes they make bosses/enemies harder though. I resolve myself to a UGS and Greatshield run my first playthrough of every Souls game, but in 3 I've been tempted to stop several times. I still roll, my equip load is under 70%, but when I do keep my shield up, more aggressive enemies take down stamina like nothing, even with an upgraded Black Iron Greatshield. A lot of the problem stems from not getting out of the shield animation until a second or so has gone by, so once you block, you HAVE to continue blocking if the enemy is attacking fast enough.

In Nameless King pt. 1, when the drake breathes fire straight down, holding my shield up actually kills me, because the flames go through the shield, damaging me a bunch while draining my stamina and stunning me, then the flames keep going and hit me yet again at full strength. I'm at Soul of Cinder and the baseball combo destroys my anus if I block the first strike.

Magic is good at the very start, but it quickly goes downhill afterwards. They haven't updated the casting speed to deal with the faster pace of the game, and the damage scaling on spells are atrocious. I mean, they're fucking terrible.

There is no reason whatsoever to use magic except for Rapport and the weapon buffing spells.

Shields get a lot better if you equip the Cloranthy ring and let go of the block button immediately after each hit and just-defend the strikes. Get in their face, strafe to one side, and if you just-defend the stamina regen between blocks will see you through most combos if you've invested a decent amount into END.

It's still shitty and un-fun, but it works.

I feel like From tried to make the game more difficult without adding the fun part to it. DS1 had easy enemies that you just sidestrafed and backstabbed, DS2 decided to add tracking to stop that, but they were still predictable and did their combos.
In DS3, enemies are hyper aggressive and unpredictable as fuck, and they still track as badly as DS2. It's like they took the pace from BB and put it into Souls without giving the player the right tools to combat that. It ends up feeling cheap. In fact, I think almost every enemy in the game feels cheap.

The more I play DS3 the more I want to play the previous games instead. Why the fuck would you make it more like Bloodbourne?

Im not too sure why, I really got a kick out of the ones that threw their meat pots at you, after the initial mad I was giggling at how swatted I got off that bridge.

I've probably also spent the most time in that area, getting to grips with my build and the enemies.

OP's is probably my least favorite, using a slow weapon and 2 handed, they are a pain.

Each time I summon for a boss, we end up trading of sorts. I get focused, I go on the defense and let the bro deal damage. When he deals enough to get aggro, he starts rolling and dodging while I deal damage. Rinse and repeat.

80 is the sweetspot for general invasions and PVP in all areas.

15-30 is the sweetspot for Watchdog invasions.

I soloed the two dark souls except this one. When I died in das1 I felt like I needed to improve, or try a different approach. When I die in das3 it usually just feels like bullshit. Maybe I'm casul but this game just doesn't have enough legitimate challenge to make me feel accomplished when I defeat a tough enemy or boss, and certain areas are just intolerably awful with enemy placement. Pulling faggots 1 by 1 is not fun, trying to crash through an ambush with the fucked poise mechanic is not fun. More stupid mobs of enemies than das2. Co op PvP is fun as hell though.
