Is this honestly a good game? I never played it but I like the art and music.
Played it recently with some bros and it's still good but I didn't realize how the combat system heavily resembles what MMOs today would be like.
Cooldowns to get the strongest attacks along with charge ups for stronger attacks and magic for buffs / debuffs as well as offensive magic alongside position switching for tank, dps and heals.
The story is also pretty neato for what it is too.

I love the game, especially for its time. If you have a Wii or a WiiU, you can play it for like 5 dollary doos.
Either that, or you can emulate it for free.
It's biggest problem is that spamming magic pretty much defeats everything, so try to steer clear of that.

Story got butcher in the original translation due to memory requirements. Fan translation fixed this for emulation and isn't one of those shitty anal literal translations.
Combat's fun. One of the prettiest games on the system too.

Yeah, it's good in single player but great in co-op.
It is truly meant to be enjoyed with bros. You will form an unbreakable bond with them over the course of the game. I played this game when it came out and haven't lost touch with the guys that I beat it with.
Better with friends but generally a pretty good JRPG.

The combat system is absolutely fantastic, I loved the combat in this game. Even every little fight on the way, the grind etc. felt fun because of the combat.
What do you guys think of Legend of Mana. I tried to twice, but it was hard to get into with all the bazillion-step things you can do with monster-raising and crafting, plus a sort of aimless story. Combat also felt somewhat weird with an almost Saga-esque variance of stats to manage.
Music/visuals were top-tier though.
