I expect a similar line graph to WoD though, but with a smaller spike upwards on the expansion's release and a faster plummet downwards. 2017 is when WoW is really going to hit rock bottom, especially after the one raid patch the expansion will provide and then blizzdrones will have to wait a year and a half for more content.

As someone who started mid-TBC and didn't experience Vanilla until end of retail Wotlk, I'd say it's artstyle, pointless rotations and classes loosing it's identity, especially in PvP.
I was never really great at PvP, the highest I got was around 1900 in Wotlk, but I've never had as much fun as premade vs premade Arathi Basin while farming standing, with autists and their consumables sleeping you for 20 seconds while ninja capping. I'm pretty sure vanilla PvP on retail was way more competetive and drama-prone scene than any Arena ever, just with the amount of people competing for ranks.

Even for experienced players, doing a low level like Deadmines or Wailing Caverns had to be done one pull at a time in early WoW, it was a dungeon, not a chore. His problem is not that other players are experienced, it's that characters in WoW are too powerful compared to mobs.
