Anyone played it? It's got a remake and iOS/Android versions were released in English not too long ago. The PC/PS VR versions are also coming out this year.

Yeah. I've tried the android version with Bluestacks since the game supports a controller, but couldn't launch it as it said that the license couldn't be verified. So I'm thinking if I should play the old version or wait for the remake on PC, but there haven't been any news about it as they're still updating the mobile versions.

It took me 2 hours to figure out that fucking tree puzzle. I felt like an idiot once I solved it.

Dreadout is ok. It's not Japanese, but Indonesian, I think. It's really similar to Fatal Frame which is a great series and I suggest to try it out if you've never played the games. Siren 1 and 2 are also quite niche.

All they've said is that both the PS4 and PC versions will release in 2016. They released the international English version for android/ios last month, so I imagine they'll soon shift their main focus to PS4/PC version as they're done with the mobile one.

Back in 1995 is coming out in a few days. It's a Japanese game meant to replicate the PS1-era survival horror games.

There are some good western horror games, but they've always been the minority when it comes to the genre.
Eternal Darkness, Penumbra, Dark Corners of the Earth (ignoring the last third of the game), and Alone in the Dark immediately come to mind.
Speaking of Alone in the Dark, the next project from the creator of it is coming out this year. Minus the awful name,2dark,it looks really promising.

I actually started playing White Day recently and shit my ass after your first Janitor run in. Not from the Janitor, but when you can go upstairs or whatever it is. There's a ghost or some shit that subtly just rolls in and giggles real quiet around you.
