Combat is fine. You oversimplifying it and describing it in a condescending way does not make it shit and tbt we all know you're trolling but this is brought up enough that I want to respond to this specific criticism.
The combat just isn't streamed lined and it takes a mentality different from most games you'd associate with this style of action. Instinctively the player wants to go with hack and slash and button mash so holding buttons for functions is counter intuitive and it feels, for lack of a better term, like it was made for noobs. Been a DMC player that's what it felt like. But holding the buttons is just a different way of playing. The game isn't an action title, it's an RPG and going at it as anything else is just going to feel uncomfortable.

you needed a Tifa or Kain if you are going to cut down the party to just four, the party you have doesn't feel important at all outside of being your best friends, from what we could tell so far they have very little connection to the story. Prompto is most solid design and works a little better without needing to be important, Gladiolus could have worked way better though as a sworn knight with a bigger connection to the Royalty of Lucius and not some bestie walking around without a shirt in your little boy crew.

we know they all have been the prince's friend since he was little, as guardians of the royal family, it doesn't give a lot for them to deal with when they're just normal citizen's of Lucius, not like Kain or Auron, or like in FFX where Yuna is arguably the protaginist, Tidus is just the MC, you don't have any of that in the three party members you get, unless Prompto turns out to be the long lost King of the Niflheim Empire, we know enough to assume we got bland party members.

They're part of the story by virtue of being Noctis' friends, and Noctis' bonds of relation are a big part of the game; his friends, family, love interest and destiny as a future king. It's not the traditional FF dynamic, granted, but it's something new for the series whilst still maintaining the appeal of adventuring a fantasy world with a party.

They've been saying firmly for 2 years now that XV will not have sequels, Versus was planned to but when it became XV in 2012 they condensed Versus and its sequels all into XV, and that is also when and why they made a few alterations like changing Stella to Luna and modifying the intro as a result of them condensing it all into one massive game, XV has no planned sequels.
