If you read the description on his ashes, it says that the Lothrics were so hellbent on continuing their bloodline that they took to some dramatic course of action to ensure it didn't die out. Somewhere in there is the answer. Their souls description says that a curse that was placed on them made it so that they would be inseparable even through death (unless they both happened to die at the same time). Judging from what he says when you die, it seems like they were both doomed to never leave the throne room. They may have had their legs destroyed as a means of keeping them there.

Nah man, the older brother even defeated a Demon Prince or King. The young one couldn't even lift a sword because of his illness. They could leave but decided to not follow their destiny to burn themselves. So it was a conscious move to stay in that room, surrounded by so much defenses. They didn't get their legs smashed. Lothric was born a cursed cripple. Lorian took him to hide in the castle and eventually succumbed to Lothric's curse, and it's implied he did so voluntarily or at least didn't care that he got crippled. No one really knows why he or how though.

They're fairly challenging. Just make sure to counter his teleports with timed rolls and try to not lose track of him. Also don't get greedy, Lorian hits fast and hard. And Lothric's Magic is a bit hard to avoid. Still, they're a pretty fair boss, and fun as hell too.

I agree with Vordt, and Ludex as well, although this is sort of remedied by the Champ, since I'm pretty sure they have the same soundtrack. Pontiff, souls of Cinder, Aldritch, and especially Twin Princes fucking nailed it though. The other tracks were a bit meh, except for Ocerios and Wachers, they were just OK, nothing great, but not really that bad. I'm gonna replay Bloodborne soon anyways, since I'm playing all the games again after I finish DS3, and it'll probably change my mind hearing the songs again.

However, I don't think they were "turning on each other". AFAIK, the Watchers were honor-bound to keeping the Abyss from spreading (duh), but after so many years they eventually became affected by the Abyss themselves. Yet, retaining some semblance of what their purpose was, they have no other option other than slaying themselves forever to prevent one of them from spreading the power of the Abyss.

This was really a case of them being varied, and them tying in with the bosses phases through transitioning very, very well.
Take pontiff sulayvahn, and that icy distant intro, followed by explosive power in phase 2's music. The deacons heavy organ centric composition, followed by the more agressive and dark chanting theme in phase 2 as they all centre around the archdeacon, gundyr's more haunting choir theme in phase 2 as he get's more deadly and much more aggressive, aldrich's use of gwnydolin's melody almost bursting out with intensity as he sets alight in phase 2, with the staggered weirdness that almost defines the aldrich/gwyndolin combination, the thundering and striking strings in the nameless king fight, yhorm's rapid descending strings with the loud chanting gives off a monolothic feeling that ties in really well with the taking down a giant beyond human power theme of the fight, wolnir's ominous and echoed but deep theme that gives off that sense of darkness but also his giant presence, dancer's ghostly and eery dissonant strings which flow really well with her disjointed/creepy movements, oceiros's eastern/mythic intro phase music which loses itself into a monstrous brutal feeling as you enter phase 2 as he screams OCELLOTE and loses all sanity, just literally perfect
I really liked what they've done with the OST to be honest
While I won't deny that bloodborne did a great job with the boss themes, I think the stylistic horror choice made a few of the themes seem samey in essence, I feel DaS3 did a better job at utilising a sense of uniqueness
