Never really invaded in dark souls. The most i did was that bell tower convenant in das2. Ive been invading in das3 and having a blast. I invade undead settlement as my magix character. I was dicking around near the Dilapidated Bridge bonfire as a Kirk cosplayer last night.
Its funny as shit when people aren't really sure what to do when I'm just trying to kill them through roll damage.
Also did a bunch of red soapstone duels as well. Most people were pretty cool about it, though there was a fag or two in the mix. Also had a weird number of hosts just give up and run off the cliff, either when they saw me and realized I wasn't a nice phantom, or when the fight was clearly not going their way and they just wanted to end it all.

OKay so, what the hell do the colors mean? Here's all I know:
White = normal basic summon, aid host up to boss
Gold = Sunbros, who aid host up to the boss. Not sure what makes them different than white, besides getting a medal on boss kill
Blue = it's the po-po hot fuzz come to kill reds (I never get auto-summoned ever though)
Red = invader asshole, but can also be invader duelist who puts sign down
Purple = ... unknown phantom, can help but can choose to kill you if they choose?
And then there's weird color mixes I've seen, like purple blue, and red gold. Also I can only summon one guy sometimes, and other times I can summon two? This happens without me using Dried Finger, which I assume would let me summon three ally phantoms total. It says you get a second invader, but I've had two invaders without using the Finger anyway.

Purple is a mad phantom. Wild cards that can't help on bosses and if called in through a summon sign can attack the host or the mobs in the world. If they invade they get rewards from any player kills, including other invaders and summoned phantoms. Their goal is to kill everyone.
Pretty sure the red and blue phantoms are the ones that get called in to defend an area automatically like the the watchdogs or the faithful, but are still hostile to the host. The red helps differentiate them from the pure blue of the po-po sentinels that are friendly to the host.
The red/gold phantoms are sunbro invaders.

I ran into this exact situation the other day. The guy blocking the door applauded when I killed everyone and kept repeating it until we both faded away.There was a Red who died instantly in there before me.
I've been rolling with that giant frost mace hammer you get from that boss knight, but I'm looking into a lighter mace that might allow me to use tanker armor and shields in exchange or maybe even normal roll. Is Morning Star the furthest mace-like hammer?
I'm debating infusing it with a gem but don't know. Would Blessed work well for a Paladin build?
Lastly, can I give the Deep Tome to miracle lady npc, or does that fuck her up? I read it's only if you buy hexes from her; does the self-buff miracle from the Deep Tome count as a hex or is it ok? (or can I give that to me to someone else to avoid risk)

Fighting multiple people is very frustrating this time around. 2v1 is still very doable but anymore becomes very painful to fight.
That goes both ways. Invaders who come up against gank squads, and hosts who get multiple invaders in their world.
The game doles out advantages to the party with greater numbers like fucking candy.

The Sirris questline goes as follows:
She turns up, you say hi then she leaves.
Give the handmaid the Dreamchaser's ashes
Sirris rocks up again and becomes summonable.
When entering the Borael Valley you can touch her sign to be summoned into her world and help.
Rocks up at Firelink afterwards.
Outside where the greatwood boss was there is another sign (there is where you get Mound-Makers).
Go back to Firelink afterwards and she swears fealty to you.
After you defeat the twin princes she kills herself and her loot is in the starting area.
You can't join the Fingers during the entire quest (the end being when you loot her body) or you will fail it and get nothing. Also I suspect going to far will also fail the quest, it does for other so it might be the same.

Invasions are all about annoying an host, it's pretty much griefing, the only difference is that it's a game mechanic. Don't cry if the guy summon some help because he doesn't want to lose his progress or his souls, unlike the invader who doesn't lose anything if he dies.

Yesterday I was invading like crazy. In 1 match I managed to kill 5 of the host's summons. He summoned his 2 friends. killed them. He runs. Summons those 2 people again. I run to mobs, they attack blah blah, ended up killing them each twice so 4 kills and then another blue guy gets summoned and I kill him. So 5 kills and the entire time the hosts runs. He then summons those same 2 guys again and I finally die.
In another match I killed 4 of the hosts summons. Random people this time. And then I am fighting the host 1 on 1, he is at about 20% health and suddenly he just stops moving and is running in place. Game times out. Sent back to my world, no kill. I'm 90% sure he alt+f4'd that fucking faggot.
So many people alt f4 when I invade. It almost immediately brings me back to my game and says timed out or something after I load into theirs.
Every invade is me vs many people except a very few that are 1v1. Which funnily enough the people are usually really honorable when it's 1v1. Sometimes I'll drink all my estus infront of them and they will do the same and we just fight. Then they always bow if I lose. Good stuff.
Yesterday I summoned a red guy into my world. I drank all my estus infront of him and he just attacks the shit out of me, drinks his estus, runs away while hurt, drinks more, is warping all over, uses that same damn spinning anime attack on that 2handed sword. What a shitters. Then he taunts after he kills me. Fucking douche.
Anyways. It's still really fun. Only way to win 1v3 or even 1v4 somtimes is to abuse the shit out of the NPCs and bait them into it. Also I use a greatsword so if you bait them really well you can hit all 3 people with 1 attack which is fucking glorious in the rare instances you can get multiple kills with 1 hit.
