admit it , The COD franchise is the greatest fps series of all time
What's the secondary question for Prime?
>>You're a gamer, right anon?
>No, I play occasionally
The only correct response to "Are you a gamer"
>`I'm a gamer!"
>I'm a gamer
Lost me right there. If somebody thinks they're a special snowflake for playing video games, they're not worth talking to.

Oh shit
>meet a qt
>I like sane stuff like watching movies, eating and playing vidya
>get excited
>what vidya?
>racing, adventure and soccer

I honestly find /v/'s autism towards the label more cringeworthy then the label itself.
>>334829595
90% of time the people who say their favorite game is Call of Duty: only plays Call of Duty. It's probably the most accessible game in the entire industry since it's literally Normalfag: The Game and anyone can play it. It's like some guy claiming to be a big movie fan when he/she only watches Star Wars.
>"I'm a gamer!"
>"What's your favorite video game?"
>"Dark Souls!"
>>334828824
You do know that CoD is actually a game.
>"Oh, Anon, you're a gamer too?"
>"Have you ever played Dark Souls? It's so hard!"
>>334830068
why would'nt you ask her to define "adventure"? Alot of people see stuff like 3D Mario and Zelda games as being that.
>>334830291
>her
>at family event
>sitting alone on a couch
>normalfag cousin comes and sits right by me
>just looks at me and says "you know my wife plays call of duty right"?
>have no idea what to do
>say "I don't play call of duty"
>looks at me for a few seconds then just gets up and leaves
Still cringe to this day.

>"Bloodborne."
>>334829595
It's pretty fun but generic as shit, any decent FPS game with an enjoyable gimmick is better.
>>334830401
you could have phrased it just a bit better like, "didn't know that but CoD isnt really my thing". But in the end he was the one acting akward as fuck, you did fine.
I usually just say Forza is my favorite game and they look at me confused
what are these people expecting from me

Commercials for it are blasted everywhere on TV and the other day I saw a little as for it at my haircut place
I do play it but it's the most normie game I play
Pretty sure nobody calls themself a gamer like that. Typically if someone asks you what your hobbies are you'd mention videogames. If someone asked what my favorite game was, I'd probably brush it off and instead say what I'm playing now or a good game I played recently. I don't really have a favorite, and if I did, I probably haven't played it in years.
I have referred to a group of people I hang out with as "us gamers". Mostly to differentiate work buddies or school friends from the guys I hang out with constantly.
>>334830401
What was that about?!
>>334830129
This. When people say "I'm a gamer" they're just saying they like to play video games, but /v/ looks far too into it and interprets it as them trying to make it their identity or some shit.
>>334831168
They do exist, although from my experience they are poser faggots who bought a PS4 because it's the "best system", then complain that Halo isn't on it and buy the newest Dark Souls game and never beat it
>>334831376
>buy the newest Dark Souls game and never beat it
So like most of /v/?

The phrase "Gamer' HAS become an identity now.
They should play TRUE GAMER GAMES LIKE SKYRIM
>You play video games?
>Yeah.
>PS4 or Xbox?
>I have a PC.
>You can play games on that? Who even has one of those big computers these days anyhow?
>>334829973
if people who snowboard are snowboarders
and people who engage in carpentry are carpenters
why cant people who play video games be gamers?
>it's popular therefore it's shit: the thread
No one who uses "gamer" as their identity is a CoD normie. People who only play CoD and Madden and shit would just say they like games, I should know, I used to have roomies exactly like that.
Also, the term gamer is cringey as fuck. It's as bad as Otaku. Having games as a major hobby that forms part of your identity is fine and normal, but for some reason calling yourself a "gamer" is fucking nauseating.
call of duty has great animations, controls, and speed
literally the only objectivly bad thing you can say about call of duty is that they dont change enough from game to game. that doesnt make the individuals games themselves bad
>>334831657
Because Snowboarding requires some serious talent and Carpentry is a profession
Video games you just press and click buttons and people think they are hot shit for doing so

Counterpoint: a lot of people that have never played games have no idea how to "experiment" in real life.
Playing around with mechanics and interactions for so long gives me a huge leg up on useless idiots that can't put two and two together. It's really annoying how dumb some of my friends and past girlfriends have been, when the solution is super obvious to me.
You could say the same about any sort of puzzle/problem solving experience. Carpenters/Mechanics/Farmers are all really good at problemsolving too, but a lot of people don't seem to have a clue.
"Gamers" are also probably more technology literate and can use google (unlike so many people). To be honest, a lot of people get into coding because they've spent so long reading/documenting mechanics interactions in games, so it's pretty easy to pick up programming.
>People that consider watching lps from start to finish as 'beating the game'
