Why devs think that death animation are funny when you can't do anything to prevent your death?

The real problem with Skyrim's is you'll be at 30-50% HP and oh hey you're dead now because the enemy happened to trigger a kill move.

But that is only the beginning of that game's problems.

I'm pretty sure those kill animations only happen if you were actually at low enough health to die to a normal attack in the first place, and then if you get hit. It's not unavoidable.

Prey did a good job of this as far as the checkpoint system goes. You got shit on with a minigame that determined your respawn health every time you died.

They don't account for the player blocking or just getting out of the way of the attack. It's assumed the player will be taking the full hit before it even lands, which is not a certainty. That's why they are so irritating.
