Aldritch is a black goo-monster, the part that you consider as "sexy" is the half-consumed corpse of Gwyndolin whom Aldritch has killed and bodysnatched.
The more that I think about it, Gwyndolin got screwed over really hard. Pontiff Sulyvahn trapped Gwyndolin while he was too weak from sickness to defend himself and left him to get goo'd on.

I don't think they care that much. Aldrich eating gods (and Gwyndolin being one of the weaker ones) fits well with the lore and the theme of the games. It's just coincidence that someones waifu gets killed off, it happens for the most of them anyways.
