With MS and Sony releasing their upgraded consoles next year I have a feeling MS won't let Sony have the hardware advantage this time. Also, that guy who was the lead engineer on the Surface and the Surface book is now the lead engineer for the Xbox division. The next console is bound to be very good, but whether that will send people to buy Xbox again after Sony's massive lead will remain to be seen.

As a PC fag who enjoys gaming I didn't consider anything other than the Xbox. I just love the exclusives more. I had a blast playing Halo:MCC and Halo 5 and I've been playing the Gears 4 beta which I am also thoroughly enjoying. PS4, even with its better hardware, hasn't interested me one bit. Microsoft doesn't see it that way. They wanted the mobile market, and lost it to Andriod. The result is that right now there are more people with Andriod devices, then those with Windows machines. Which means over time people are going to expect their PCs (if they even have them) to be like their tablets and phones (in terms of functionality, not necessarily UI like MS had banked on with W8). Of course they also expect games to be F2P shit as well.
But the point is that all MS has left is enterprise jobs and PC gaming. In the world of consumer electronics, including gaming in general, they're fast becoming irrelevant. How many people actually want W10 besides just to play games? At some point games will make the jump and MS will be IBM 2. Of course this means gaming becomes mobilfied too.

That's only possible if MS makes PCs or low-end xbones that come with netflix/hulu and it works right out of the box. So far this isn't the case, though the xbone comes close. Problem is that nobody wants to pay $300 for it when they can get a roku stick at Walmart for $60. This is especially true when most people do gaming on their phones now (as cancerous as that is).
