I liked XIII but not it's sequels. I tried to replay it for the 4th time a few weeks ago and couldn't get mroe than a few hours in. I just stopped caring because I knew it was another 60 hour investment
XIII was definitely the weakest of the three and overall not very good, but XIII-2 and LR were legitimately enjoyable games.Serah is best girl

The narrative just doesnt flow naturally between each installment. There's these sudden leaps in story between each one and they expect you to just go with it.

XIII-2 is the only good one and only because Noel and Caius are among the best protagonists and antagonists, respectively, in the franchise, the time travel mechanic was enjoyable, and the plot was decent and mostly ignored the fucking awful Fal'cie/L'cie/Ci'eth bullshit from the first game.
The overall cast of the trilogy sucks and 1 and 3 have shit gameplay and plots.
FFXIII-2 would have been better served as a standalone title.

What drags FF13-2 down is that the story has to tie in with the stuff of the first game in ways that sometimes seem like asspulls or just don't make sense and that finding Lightning was a big thing in that game and when you find her she doesn't really do anything
A stand alone title would have definitely served 13-2 better
