You can't counter some enemies in Batham too, and the counter window is still hilariously large compared to something like Royal Guard.

I've yet to see an UE3 game with tight controls which don't have a shitload of delay,
so I assume it's an engine thing.
Other explanation would be that not a single dev tried it which I find unreasonable to assume.

What about Killer is Dead or Lollipop Chainsaw? Or even DmC: DMC, quality of the games themselves to be decided.

Honestly there aren't a lot of action games that try to be intense that use the engine, unless you want to extend the genre limits and include games like Bulletstorm or the Rise of the Triad remake.

just finished Shadow of Modor with the mouse and keyboard...... a problem child, liked it but, I had very little control over it.

See the game would be fine if there wasn't a big prompt when to counter and if countering had a longer/more punishing fail animation.
That way you gotta look at enemy's attacks rather than the prompt or get hit.
