Even though I prefer the cast and story of 3 (overall) it had way too many fucking empty weeks of nothing happening and a lot of the systems were underdeveloped compared to 4.
Plus Tartarus is far worse than 4's dungeons, even though they're not very good either.
I just with Golden had brought back a non-gutted version of the Tactics system.
Only thing better in P4 is the combat, and both games are pretty ass in that respect compared to mainline SMT games.
But seriously, to even compare the two in story is a fucking joke. P4 is lighthearted and fun, but it's shallow as fuck.

P3 is currently getting a 10/10 movie series adaption if you haven't seen it yet. Parts 1-3 are out and subbed, 4 is the final one out on BD in August.
Persona 4 is a very happy game. Persona 3 had fucking amazing atmosphere thanks to it's story slowly becoming darker starting from Shinjiro's death.

It's clearly stated that the Dark Hour enhances your physical capabilities which explains why the party can dole out and take so much punishment despite being high schoolers, and also why they get tired easily. Despite this Shinji dies to a SINGLE BULLET. Additionally, if it's that easy to kill, then why didn't Revolver Jesus just reload and shoot the rest of the party? In battle he's one of the weakest bosses in the game and shooting his gun is a normal attack. It's so fucking dumb

Yu goes to Inaba. Sits beside Chie who is friends with Yukiko and Yosuke. They all stick together with the MC and subsequently become his friend. They are the only people Teddie has ever met and they have promised to help him, subsequently becoming friends. Yukiko knew Kanji when they were younger, he has no other friends and joins them to help track down his kidnapper. Rise has just moved to the town having not lived there for years, joins to help and subsequently becomes their friend. Naoto is a loner who nobody likes, when she knows what the IT are doing she tries to help them, when she's kidnapped and rescued she joins them and subsequently becomes their friend.
How does that not make sense? Being grateful for being rescued and being outcasts coming together is more than enough reason for them becoming friends.

Bullshit, P4 dungeons are literally Tartarus cut up piece meal and spread out across the game as "story dungeons", it just has a lick of paint applied to it to pretty it up.
At least Tartarus is more compact, easier to go up, can send party members to explore, and most importantly you get rewarded with story missions, where-as in 4 you just reach what is essentially a boss floor on Tartarus and then some story happens. No genuinely unique dungeons, just gimmicks and a theme.
If you hate Tartarus you should hate P4 dungeons even more because they're the same shit just dressed up differently, except you get JUST that same shit rather than it being a split off dungeon from story missions which have their own small "dungeons" that are genuinely different.

The P3 cast didn't get along with each other (they had their own groups within the SEES obviously) throughout the game like friends. Towards the end they did become friends, most likely after dealing with their betrayal, death of a colleagues and facing certain death themselves.

That's literally all P4 dungeons are. Except the boss is the story mission, so no interesting scenarios, just a prettied up Tartarus.
P4 dungeons are bigger because Tartarus blocks are compact, you can go up floors in Tartarus like nothing.
In P4 the floors are bigger and longer pathways, going up floors takes longer.

Persona 3 is boring as fuck and tried way too hard to be edgy. Bland, forgettable antagonists, unlikable bitches (Yukari, Fuuka, Ken, etc.). Party members that barely had any character development (Koromaru, Shinji, Ken). Only fedora wearing nostalgiafags will defend Persona 3.
Persona 4 is a fun game with genuinely likable characters (which is why people love it more than Persona 3). Better antagonists, better gameplay (not saying much but still), overall just a more memorable and entertaining game. All the P3 hipsters will remain eternally butthurt about P4's superiority and success. And that's hilarious.

In P4 they only grow and overcome their hardships if you do their social links.
Because P3 merged the characters problems with the story, it worked alot better.

Koromaru is a dog, and while a character, you're right , he was more a gimick , but they fixed that in P4 where the mascot character actually had an interesting back story and development.
Ken realized he's got to grow up and live for his mama, and realized brutally murdering someone because of an accident is fucking stupid.
Shinji had less than others, and he was a plot point for Akihiko and ken to grow.
Also if you watched the video cams, you'll see Shinji is kind of like Kanji 1.0, tough guy with a soft side.
I played both games back to back a few years ago. I can barely remember anything that happened in 3, but I can remember everything in 4. I think I prefer 4 because I don't have the nostalgia for 3 (I honestly though that game was kinda dull and overrated)

I love P4 to death and I prefer it over P3, but P4s biggest sin is that the character development only happens in S-links, and it's never referenced again. My character starts to date Naoto, never is this mentioned except in her S-link, she starts to wear girl clothes, no mention at all. I form a bromance relationship with yosuke and kanji, they never even mention it.
