If this guy can summon skeleton warriors out of any kind of corpse, why doesn't he carry a bag filled with dead flies or something like that so he always has emergency supplies?
I'm no necromancer but I think it's easier to extract a human-sized skeleton out of a demon than a fly.They don't even have bones as far as I know.Maybe It only works on humanoid creatures or we can only do it to hostile creatures with killing intents,I don't know.

flies don't have souls which is a reagent for most necromantic spells.
OP here, now that I remember he does summon skeletons out of flies, but he needs them to be a whole swarm (act 2, act3) in order to raise 1 skeleton.
Bones and souls aren't needed, but organic matter does apparently.
