Yes but if you don't move during your roll, you're much more vulnerable. That's why pinning people into a wall is so useful. The frames are mostly at the start of the roll. The ring tacks more onto the end. It makes the roll way safer.

yeah, it makes the roll safer, but at the cost of being fucked if you do get hit. A strength build can easily one shot people using that ring. Don't even have to be aggressive. Just attack when they do- you will hyper armor or poise through it, and they will die.

Whenever I recommend the souls games to people I always suggest to avoid the multiplayer aspect (outside of being a summon for bosses you've already beaten as a way to replenish humanity) until a 2nd playthrough. Everything from enemy placement to environment design just feels so meticulously crafted around a solo experience that summoning others just ruins it for me.
