Naw, Jakob is better in my male Corrin playthrough, because Felicia is an awful character and I never wanted to use her. Even with Jakob joining as late as he did, he quickly surpassed Felicia's max level and outshined her.

Purely stat wise, he is in a weird place since he is not as good a staffbot and he is outshined by other hidden weapon users(unless your are in Conquest and Kaze turned out horrible). He will probably be more useful as an early Great Knight

Also barely related but I know everybody tends to be pretty ambivalent about Odin, and I didn't know what to do besides field him because I needed one more unit on the field and he was still almost on par with the team I was cultivating for endgame rather than the rest of benchwarmers.
Then came the final chapters and suddenly everything clicked and he was dodging everything reliably and unleashing crits and astras like nobody's business.

Huh. I always hear differing opinions on it. Some (usually gamefaqs) say it's shit beyond shit with not a single redeeming quality.
