By design, it uses MOBA elements. Alot of the skills for every character is either a wide skill shot, AOE, or auto target. All three of these types of moves are popular because of MOBA's.
Just because it doesn't have minions or an RPG element doesn't mean it doesn't play like a MOBA. It's a constant mishmash of rock, papers, scissors where one skill set is stronger than the other.
The character designs are fun and the maps are colorful, but don't act like this is the game never stole from MOBA concepts. This rule can also apply to games like Dirty Bomb.
A large majority of you are apologists, I get it.
You like Blizzard games and subconsciously don't want it to be a bad game. But in all honesty, it has bland gameplay modes with serious imbalance issues. This isn't some GOTY like alot of people were expecting and it certainly won't keep your interest past month unless you're a drone or you've never experienced FPS's before.

I played the stress test for a good 12 hours.
The games feels better as a shooter than TF2. More up to date, better feeling shooting.
Ultimate spam gets annoying as fuck though. Maps suck compared to TF2. Hard counter classes get annoying as fuck.
Its so close to being a better TF2, but instead its just a TF2 hybrid mmo/moba influences.
You'll either love it or hate if you're into the teamwork shit.

Lucio and the Winston were far and above the best characters in competitive and it got to the point where pretty much every team had double winston and a Lucio the entire match with only the rest ever swapping out.

Maps being worse, makes me afraid because I think map design in TF2 is generally very inconsistent with shit like Junction and Hightower mixed in with stuff like Badwater.
Ultimate spam and Hard counters because it doesn't seem like something that would be in the game to me. (I haven't played!) but it seemed like ultimates usually have a long charge and that characters don't really hard counter each other not even to the point of pyro countering spy.

pretty much every character can use their ultimate ability approximately 2-3 times per game, maybe more if they deal a lot of consistent damage and don't die very often. it seems fair to me and it's better than before when you only built up your ult through taking or receiving damage. now everyone slowly builds it up over time and the rate can be increased by dealing damage.

To be fair, I think people give way more importance to ults than they actually deserve. I was afraid the game was gonna revolve around them but they're just there and they happen sometimes and it's not such a big deal unless it's a mercy full team ult for example.

The thing about her turret traps though is they're useless if they're not in a bunch of at least three, and even then, they're only useful in three if you're there to do damage with them.
So if you want to defend more than one entrance (there are typically three or more to every point), then your turrets are going to die, or you're going to only be able to defend one entrance.
On top of that, there's the fact that a lot of entrances straight up can't be defended by Symettra (vertical ones), and from those, you can usually see wherever Symettra CAN put her turrets.

Her sentries are really good to deploy in a fight. I've found that either your opponent will ignore the sentry to focus on you/person you're with (you're not just charging at people alone as a support character, right?) ,which gives the sentry sufficient time to chip away at them, or they will focus on the sentry which will give your team a chance to rip into them. Her teleporter is fucking game changing if placed wisely. It can turn a 15 second walk back to a 1 second walk back.

The maps really force you to play certain ways. Holy shit I hope I never have to play hanamuru ever in my life ever again. A lot of places where its just 1 big chokepoint. Even 1 point on hanamuru where the capture point is literally right next to spawn.
TF2 felt open and with a lot more freedom in how you'd approach. Flexible I guess is a good word for it. Hate the claustrophobic feel of OW's maps.
You have 12 players in each match with their own ultimate bars. Thats a lot of ultimate happening in a single match.
In TF2 your class feels more like a swiss army knife depending on how you use it. In Overwatch the classes are much more dedicated to certain roles aside from a few generalists like soldier 76.
A tracer and reaper will annihilate a widow maker because their movement options are fucking free as shit to get behind enemy backlines. Literally just teleporting or blink straight to the backlines. In TF2 sniping I feel like I spies have to work harder to actually get those backstabs. If they fuck up and don't manage to approach you in the right way, you can stab their face with a machette. No widow is going to be able to outduel a reaper unless the reaper has brain problems.
Each class feels way more specialized in what they do in OW. Its okay if you like teamwork heavy games, but it'll make the solo experience worse. I recommend getting a stack of friends.

Widow can easily escape a Reaper though, the thing is they never seem to try, every sniper I flank just seems to try to shoot me instead of being a nuisance with the hook and venom traps. I think a lot of people just try to do what they think they should instead of being creative and that's what makes it seems like the classes aren't flexible.

More importantly a reaper/tracer is gunning you at close quarters point blank range by the time you even know you're flanked.
