What are you building tonight /v/?
I don't know yet
Is that really SC4? Graphics.
I've never tried city builder games before. I was gonna try this, seems similar

>seems similar
It's not, but it's good.
>>334724773
Probably running at 15 fps
>>334724992
I know it's more about transport than city making.
I have sim city 4 on Steam but never played it. Should I play it? Anything I need to do with it?
>>334725024
3gb of plugins.. yeah it lags a fair bit.
>>334725113
This site has a good run-down of what to download to get the best experience:
https://sites.google.com/site/sc4modds/
>>334725587
Also it looks like some of the links on that page direct to simpeg.com which doesn't exist anymore, so just google them to get the simtropolis page.

>>334725587
Seems like a lot to install for first time player
>>334727142
Mf.
factioro
>>334725113
It's good but you need to make sure it's running on a single core if you want to avoid constant crashes.
>>334728207
get on my level
>>334728285
Just started but it's nice to see mine is following a similar pattern to yours with one long line of resources and branches at various intervals. How did you take that picture of your world? Did you just glue them together in paint?
>>334728676
>>334728285
>>334728207
This game any fun? Looks a bit tedious.
I want a game where I can build either a civilization/empire/village or be a part of those while influencing them. That or be a dwarf doing dwarf things.
probably dwarf
yeah
>>334728676
Yes. It looks bad for that reason. Having a main bus with all raw materials (well, processed) helps making a scalable layout.
>>334728935
It's only tedious if you're stupid and can't automate the tedium. It's a lot of fun and addictive.
>>334728935
Yeah it is really fun trying to automate the whole process. I'm still on the campaign mode but I'm having a blast.
>>334723685
I'm building 1940s New York City, but kinda struggling to get the population up. Also like 3/4 of my neighborhoods are running budget deficits, but mostly due to skewed deals that favor the richer neighborhoods.
>inb4 autism
Building a brewery in modded minecraft, it shall mass produce beer then generate power using beer as fuel.
Just finished up the building, kinda ugly, not sure how to fix it, maybe better if I add a second floor?
Currently trying to find ANY info on how to actually use Growthcraft (the mod I'm using for brewing beer).
>>334729029
Nah thats pretty cool. Building shit in minecraft is true autism.
>>334729780
>generate power using beer as fuel.

>>334729026
Is it similar to SpaceChem?
>>334730234
It does scratch the same itch. It's spacechem in a much free-er environment where you actually be creative and fix problems that naturally arise from a high level plan instead of fixed puzzle.
>>334729029
That's awesome. I've seen similar concepts done before. Did you use ploppables or is it growables all over?
>>334729975
Thanks. Growth has kind of come to a stand-still though. Commercial demand has basically been flat for a century desspite some cheesing with landmarks to prop it up, and I don't really want to expand outside the existing industrial areas of the Bronx/Harlem/Staten Island. I'm preparing to turn Crown Heights into a bedroom community, but I'm not sure if it'll have much affect on demand in the financial district at this point.
>>334730346
If you can explain those terms to me, I can explain which I used. In most cases I made sure I had the subway system and highways done in advance, because those are a bitch to add in later. I made sure to keep most of the power running North to South (from coal and natural gas plants in the black ghettos that I have basically consigned to misery), while the water runs south to North (because pollution is generally lower in the South).
>>334730192
Unfortunately there's not much else to do with a large volume of beer. I couldn't even drink it since it would produce more than my character can digest.
>>334730834
ploppable = instabuild structures like rewards
growable = zones
>>334731285
Definitely growables. I find instabuild structures generally have too many drawbacks in the long run. Also they generally don't fit the architecture style I want (always go for 1890s San Francisco and 1940s New York). But some of the less affluent areas do have ploppables. You may be able to see an army base or two there.
Neat.

You should try downloading some mods. There's some amazing New York styled buildings on simtropolis.

12 year old game still looks better than Shitlines kek

graphic mods family
>>334734484
The graphics mods don't take away from the playdough-esqueness of the buildings.
>>334734419
Skylines can look good given enough creativity. Certainly not SC4 scale of realism but it can get there.

Not mine btw
