I agree Guppy would probably be easy mode, though getting Guppy without goat head is unreliable.

The reason I made this thread is that I feel like this game which has nearly 500 different items is carried hard by ~20 items which actually make the game fun and I believe it would never have been such a success without these items.

Actually, I bought Gungeon and its aight... but while playing it I realized it is (imho) inferior to boi in almost every aspect so I stopped and went back to playing boi after more than 1,5 years.

It's poorly designed. A lot of items are made to specifically be bad. BOI has more situations than NT, RoR, or Gungeon, where you just don't want to pick anything up cause the items suck.

I think Ludovico Technique is pretty balanced as it requires many other items to be good. Good luck getting fucked in the ass by fast charging exploding champion enemies while you try to run away from them dodging fires and other enemies while trying to control your tear.
