That's just people (including you) spamming R1 and then complaining when you can't cancel out of a mistimed attack. Worse, the entire game was build around this feature, even going so far as having a command queue that you can't back out of to make sure you don't just spam buttons, and all you scrubs keep doing it anyway and then complain that it's the game's fault you get wrecked instead of your own ineptitude.

Katanas are very good. Estoc is great, rapier is good.
There a lots of good dex scaling swords in the game.
But run the Uchigatana first. upgrade it a bit as you see fit and a sharp gem doesnt hurt either.
I just collected the last ash from Aldrich, played for 6 hours on this run and i never used anything other than the Uchi until now. Dont know if something better turns up because my +4 Uchi with sharp is pretty badass.

I was too casual for demon Souls. 40 hours and couldn't beat it. I bought Dark Souls and 27 hours in could not beat it. Then on a second attempt on Darksouls after the DLC dropped something happened, it was like a switch got flipped and I was suddenly decent at the game, I cleared it.
Then Darksouls 2 came out and I breezed through it, then I easily beat demon souls in under 20 hours.
I beat blood borne then beat it again with the DLC killing every DLC boss on my first attempt.
I finally had gotten gud. Its not a meme you really do have to get gud. You have to pay your dues like everyone else, only supreme faggots bitch its too hard and ask for easy mode.
