But they don't. And even with the best games you'll reach the moment where your learning/fun "curve" crosses the curve of the game's complexity/etc. and you lose interest and move on.

Because nothing will ever fill the void inside of you. Maybe you think doing something some day in "the future" will do it, maybe you think a gf will resolve the issue, but it won't. The best you can ever do is distractions, and video games are the best distractions, they're better than movies, better than books, better than other people. And after having spent years upon years playing video games they start to lose their effect, because you have so much knowledge of them, because you have the skills necessary to beat any game without too much effort, that you cannot be as easily distracted as before. It's either come here to to try and forget, stupid jokes and posts or annoying meme shitposts that anger you, distracting you just for a while, or ultimately sudoku.

because, anon, you've become desensitized to them and are looking for something new to give you the same rush/reward feeling you used to get.
you've realized that most games use the same formulas, and most of the games you once enjoyed use a lot of themes you can't relate to since you've grown up. either that or you can't get into things anymore because you've gotten to a point where you actually want to be out in the world you were once using video games to avoid.
video games only serve to remind you of what you're missing out on (friendship, love, etc) by throwing motivated characters at you that make you feel like shit for sitting on your ass.
that is why video games suck.
