At this point it's better than the last gen but not quite at where the one before it was. That being said online is finally where it should be and the controllers are comfy as fuck.

every console using the same hardware and every developer using the same engines has made video games really boring. I miss the more pioneer days of tech before everyone just started using the same microprocessors and architecture.

Terrible so far, but there have been some good happenings, like when everybody called out the order 1886 for not being a videogame, the desperation for 60 FPS, 1080p by porting old games to the new machines, Nintendo changing from a videogame company to a legit toy company, and the revival of fighting games.
I'm still waiting for a reason to buy a current gen console.

Honestly worse than the last generation. At least the last generation introduced a novelty (online play) that we didn't see before.
The lack of worthwhile exclusives for the new generation is pretty disheartening. The lack of PC exclusives is pretty sad, too.

Easily the shittiest thus far.
This gen is completely unremarkable. Everyone will always remember SNES classics, PS1/N64 classics, Xbox where they played Halo 1/2, etc. but this gen is so forgettable.
The best thing that came out of this gen was the Xbone controller which is the best controller ever and great for PC.

I finally built a PC.
I probably won't even buy a current Gen console before the next ones come out and the price is under 200 eurobucks. My ps3 entertains me just fine. And after all, my most played games are the the first three Crash Bandicoot games and CTR.

Pretty terrible. We're reaching the point where it takes an entire console gen to create one game, nearly everything is a sequel or rehash, and day one season passes are the norm.
I can only hope Japan one day manages to make a comeback.

I have a Wii U, 3DS, and Vita.
Handhelds are pretty good. I've got a lot of use out of my Vita and 3DS, although most of that is from third party developers (Vanillaware, Marvelous, Sega). Wii U has been fairly disappointing. While I've enjoyed the games on it, there are just so few, and most of them are on the "well I have the system so why not" list as opposed to some must-play titles.
Most of the stuff I'm interested in on the PS4 is available on the Vita, or should've been. (Gravity Rush 2) I still don't see a point to the Xbone.
