I've got the original pirated on my PC, my PS3 broke so I never got to play the copy I bought. I just accepted offline only.

I've used spoofed app ids many times before and have had many friends that did and none of them ever got banned. If you don't feel safe about it though, don't do it. You could always contact Steam support however and just say that a room mate was using the fix even though afaik its completely safe.
