I need some game suggestions /v/. The gameplay from Dark Souls seems really fun to me, mainly the combat and rpg elements, but the dark and low quality fantasy theme in everything including the UI puts me off a lot. The combat in Cube World is really fun to me but the dev is a piece of shit. Monster Hunter seems like a cool concept but japan fucks it up with 2000's graphics and bs combat added on.
Are there any games that have really good combat but are actually cleanly made and easy to enjoy (not counting difficulty, that's fine)?

Well I know this is difficult to convey. I may be a fag for loving the styles that indie games often come up with. Anything that is easy to look at and has an efficient UI is good enough really. If I had to name a few games that are good examples: Bastion/Transistor, Eve Online, FTL, maybe Borderlands, League of Legends is alright-ish at it.

It feels to me like 5 years of progress past Diablo II. That and the bigger issue is that I just want to know if any games exist that went in a different direction thematically, which seems to be extremely dark (obviously)
