Personally I'm just going to wait for it to come to PC because I can't do multiplayer on the PS4. I have no idea why but the internet connection on that thing is fucking terrible. The Wii U is right next it and that works just fine, so it's not like it's too far from the router or something...

I'm the same guy and this is a terrible idea. You learn almost nothing from playing against the CPU. Playing against a real person teaches you to gauge somebody's emotional state, adapt to somebody's patterns, and learn when players tend to use certain options so you can buffer counters to them.
Playing against the CPU will never make you very much better. Pick up SFV and play ranked against other beginners or shitters if there aren't beginner lobbies in Xrd.

Everyone says that playing against people is the best way to learn but... really, that only teaches you how to play against people. At least play against coms until you know the mechanics and you've gotten used to the controls enough so that you can do inputs reliably.
Otherwise you're just going to get destroyed by other players onlin and you'll never know why.

If you can't do inputs reliably you should be doing inputs over and over again. Playing against the CPU will not teach you mechanics faster than reading a tutorial about them. Learn your combos, find out briefly how your character should be played, and try playing online. Playing fighting games against other people is scary at first but eventually it becomes an addicting emotional roller coaster. Playing at a low level in ranked is usually also really funny because you run into a myriad of retards who do ridiculous things.
I don't know how easy it is to find beginners in Xrd online though.

While it is true, everyone can gatling c.S f. S 5H not everyone can combo the full thing, or should be using it anyway since you can't do anything afterward. Also 6P, its almost never the only anti air and A LOT of the characters other anti air options are better and more reliable in certain angles. for some still it's not an aa at all.
Pot also can't forward dash, or air dash, and generally relies on things like canceled or YRC hammerfalls to move around.

Zappa is very set up heavy, ie get a knockdown and then start using your ghosts to apply pressure so you can do a mixup to hopefully get another knockdown to repeat the process.
