Then they started enforcing the $1 minimum for Steam keys but started offering slightly better games. Then the EA/THQ bundles turned the bundles into dumping grounds for crap games nobody would bother buying even during a Steam Seasonal Sale.

After the first few bundles, but before the EA/THQ ones, there were a couple of bundles that truly showcased some good indie titles and even had the penny keys.
Christmas 2011 killed the penny key deal, but the bundles were still somewhat intact. Then the EA/THQ bundles took over, selling old AAA titles in place of indie games, to massive sales. After those two bundles, we've seen loads of publisher bundles since then that consisted of nothing but old games that nobody would buy standalone because they were junk, but people bought because of the bundles.
