So I just borrowed this game from a friend and holy shit, this is one of the worse new-player friendly games I have ever played. I addition the the terrible control scheme, after an attack you are stuck in an animation forever. Locking on in pointless since you can't dodge, only step away from enemies and if you aren't locked on you dodge but lose sight of the enemy because of the terrible camera angles. I never even beat the first level before giving up. I died 20 times in it and each fucking loading screen is a minute long. It's so boring and repetitive. Not to mention YOU FUCKING LOSE ANY ITEMS YOU HAD USED WHEN YOU DIE. WHY?!?
I was able to kill everyone in the first level even the group of townsfolk near a giant banging door. When it wouldn't open I started exploring. Big mistake. Some giant guy 1 shot me and I lost 2500 souls.
Fuck this stupid fucking game.

I too picked it up the other week.
And I felt the way you did, until I started to understand the game.
I am still awfully shit. I mean really bad. However, I know when I fuck up, its because of me. It's one of the few games that I actually enjoy being so unforgiving.
The lack of forgiveness gives you full control, that's what you need to try and utilize and enjoy.

The only real problem he listed was that the health vial system isn't as good as the estus system and that loading takes too long. The loading time got patched to be shorter, so the OP should probably update his game. Other than that, all those problems are his fault and he should stop blaming other things for his own shortcomings.
