The whole idea of Pokemon is traveling the world and bringing your companions with you, mirrored by being able to bring your Game Boy/DS/3DS and engage with other Pokemon players in the real world. Having it on a console goes against that whole mindset.

What he said about the real time battles would work with more moves for sure. I'll agree with that. In turnbased though, there's zero reasons to have more than 4. It would make a piss easy game even easier. There's no point in having multiple attacks of the same type anyway. 4 attacks with 6 Pokemon already gives you enough options to steamroll the entire game with ease.

To be fair, anon is right for the most part. It was either Tajiri or Masuda that said they don't plan on having a mainline title on console in the foreseeable futuren because the whole point of Pokémon was being able to have then "in your pocket". Plus let's be logical here, Pokémon is one of their money-catchers on handhelds.
